## Job Title
Staff Specialist - Psychiatry - Psychotherapy Educator (northern Sydney Central Coast)

### Overview

This is an exciting opportunity for a Psychiatrist to join our team as a Psychotherapy Educator and be part of the Network B training program in NSW. The successful candidate will work at Macquarie Hospital and be responsible for fostering relationships with trainee psychiatrists to provide high-quality psychotherapy training.

### Key Responsibilities

* Meet with trainees on a regular basis to discuss issues relevant to the psychological care of patients under their care.
* Provide support to encourage high-quality provision of psychotherapy training and engage with trainees across multiple local health districts.
* Maintain and improve the quality of psychiatry training within the network by supporting the Network Governance Committee.
* Keep informed of relevant RANZCP policies and respond accordingly to any changes that affect psychotherapy training.
* Support the provision of an education program within training sites of the network and assist with the assessment of trainees according to RANZCP policies.
* Liaise with psychotherapy supervisors providing supervision to trainees within the network.

### Requirements

* MBBS or equivalent, currently registered or eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia.
* Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (FRANZCP) or recognition as a specialist by the Medical Board of Australia.
* Demonstrated behaviours that reinforce the CORE Values of our organisation, including Collaboration, Openness, Respect and Empowerment.
* Sound understanding of and demonstrated experience with, psychotherapy training requirements of the RANZCP;
* Commitment to and evidence of ongoing Continuing Professional Development and extensive experience as a Psychotherapist.
* Demonstrated high-level skills in supervision and mental health education;
* Sound understanding of the health system as it applies to mental health services in NSW;
* Sound understanding of clinical education and training concepts and practices and their application in the health sector;
* Sound knowledge of the evidence base for the effectiveness of psychotherapy;
* Understanding of, and commitment to, Occupational Health and Safety, Equal Employment Opportunity, ethical practices and the Ethnic Affairs Priority Statement;
* Well-developed organisational skills, the ability to successfully manage competing issues and meet deadlines;
* Strong problem-solving, analytical and evaluation skills and experience.
