We are seeking two interns to join our Sydney office and contribute to the work of our Advocacy and Development and Outreach Departments.
About the RoleAs an intern, you will have the opportunity to work on a range of projects that cover elements of our work, including domestic and international issues affecting Australia. You will be responsible for conducting background research, assisting with the preparation of published materials, and monitoring press coverage.
Responsibilities- Conduct research and fact-checking on human rights issues in Australia and the Asia region.
- Assist with the preparation of op-eds, dispatches, press releases, and daily monitoring of news and current affairs.
- Monitor press coverage and update lists of relevant articles and publications.
- Support outreach tasks related to human rights in the Asia region, with a focus on Australia.
- Use databases and assist with event planning and other tasks as needed.
To be eligible for this internship, you must be a currently enrolled student and have valid work authorization in Australia. You should have a strong interest in international human rights and be well-organized, self-motivated, and reliable.
What We OfferWe offer a collegial and dynamic work environment, with opportunities to participate in staff meetings, online meetings with global colleagues, and external events. You will also have the chance to work on a range of projects and develop your skills in areas such as research, writing, and event planning.
We reimburse interns for lunch and transportation expenses and can provide academic credit for the internship. If you are interested in this opportunity, please submit your application.
