Support Victims of Family and Domestic Violence

As a part-time Victim Support Worker, you will be delivering face-to-face and phone support to individuals who have experienced family and domestic violence. This role involves debriefing, psycho-education, and providing information about family and domestic violence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Providing trauma-informed and recovery-focused interventions to victims.
  • Conducting safety assessments, creating safety plans, making referrals, and advocating for victims.
  • Collaborating with the program team to contribute victim-informed perspectives and ensure the program does not increase risk to victims.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Tertiary qualification in Social Work, Psychology, Social Science, or Counselling with relevant industry experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in supporting individuals and families, preferably in family and domestic violence and/or trauma.
  • Experience in conducting family violence safety assessments and planning.
  • Culturally safe and responsive practice with clients from diverse backgrounds.
