As a Power Trading Insights Analyst, you will work closely with traders to analyze large datasets, build forecasting models, and design custom tools to streamline market analysis and automate reporting workflows.
- Uncover critical trends and patterns in electricity markets by analyzing large datasets
- Build and maintain accurate forecasting models for energy prices and market risk evaluation
- Collaborate with traders to enhance trading strategies and risk management practices
- Design and implement software tools to automate reporting workflows and enhance market analytics capabilities
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Economics, Engineering, Computer Science, or related field
- Practical experience working with AEMO MMS Database required
- Prior exposure to spot trading in the Australian electricity market advantageous
- Strong understanding of electricity market fundamentals, including pricing mechanisms and regulatory frameworks
- Proficient in software development, with experience in programming languages such as Python, Java, R, or C++
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, particularly in handling complex datasets
- Strong communication skills, with ability to distill complex information for non-technical stakeholders
- Meticulous attention to detail and ability to perform effectively under tight deadlines
