
Spacecraft Test Specialist

We are seeking a skilled professional to join our team as a Test Engineer. As an integral part of our mission, this role will play a critical part in developing technologies for space travel and exploration.
- This position involves initial system testing of the Starship Vehicle, with responsibilities including developing procedures and tools for testing integrated vehicle assemblies and verifying vehicle health before launch.
- The successful candidate will also be responsible for ensuring seamless and efficient checkouts in individual assembly areas with minimal overhead, accelerating all aspects of vehicle factory operations to support rapid production and launch cadence goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Developing a deep understanding of the Starship's avionics/propulsion architecture and how it operates as an integrated system;
- Establishing test criteria and pass/fail requirements for integrated vehicle checkouts;
- Developing procedures and processes for validation of a rapidly evolving spacecraft;
- Identifying and driving improvements to testing efficiency and safety of vehicle testing;
- Troubleshooting hardware issues in real-time and pushing feedback to correct owners to eliminate repeat issues;
- Collaborating with design, build, systems engineering, production leadership, and technicians in the field;
- Developing and leading training efforts to build test execution capability within production and outside engineering teams;
- Building requirements and providing feedback for large scope GSE projects needed to enable checkouts execution and achieve production rate;
- Contributing to the development of the Starship production line and providing feedback to maximize efficiency and minimize cost/ton to orbit.
