Spiritual Care and Community Development

We are seeking a dedicated professional to join our team as a Spiritual Care and Community Development Officer. The successful candidate will provide spiritual support and guidance to staff and clients, while also collaborating with local community groups to develop faith pathways.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-on-one spiritual support and group work sessions for staff and clients.
  • Collaborate with local community groups to create faith pathways that cater to diverse needs.
  • Facilitate Christian ceremonies and services, adhering to The Salvation Army's rites and traditions.
  • Coordinate weekly chapel services and contribute to the development of the local mission plan.
  • Support staff and management in understanding The Salvation Army's theology, mission, and culture.

Requirements:

  • A deep understanding of and commitment to The Salvation Army's mission and values.
  • Previous experience in chaplaincy or a related field, or relevant qualifications in theological studies.
  • Diploma of Chaplaincy (mandatory).
  • Training in Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) (mandatory).
  • Positive Lifestyle Program (PLP) Facilitator training (mandatory).
  • National Working With Children Check.
  • Valid and current Driver's Licence.
  • Regular attendance at a Christian place of worship.
