About This Role

This is a senior position that oversees the delivery of emotional and spiritual care to clients, families, staff, and volunteers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure effective pastoral care delivery by coordinating with team members to meet client needs.
  • Provide administrative support and management supervision to a team of caregivers.
  • Act as a role model for colleagues, advocating for the organization's mission and values.
  • Share expertise and coach staff to support clients' emotional and spiritual well-being.
  • Regularly collaborate with stakeholders to discuss feedback, identify needs, and report on changes or developments.
  • Assess client/family spiritual and emotional needs and develop a personalized care plan.
  • Provide emotional and spiritual support to clients and their families.
  • Work with direct reports to enhance their skills in meeting clients' spiritual needs.
  • Train staff and volunteers in areas related to pastoral care, including boundaries, grief, and loss.
About You
  • A commitment to engage with our Christian mission and values.
  • A strong understanding and experience of supporting people living at home with life-limiting illness, including dementia.
  • A strong personal and active Christian faith and church involvement.
  • Theological/Pastoral Care qualifications and experience.
  • Demonstrated leadership capacity and experience in leading a pastoral care team.
  • Demonstrated capacity to provide empathetic care and enhance wellbeing.
  • Highly developed communication skills, including listening, compassion, and empathy.
  • Experience raising up, leading, and supporting a team of volunteers.
  • Strong administrative and computer skills.
  • Able to relate to people from all faiths, backgrounds, and cultures.
