About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Support Worker to join our team at Spinal Life Australia in Townsville. As a Key Support Worker, you will play a vital role in providing on-the-job training and support to our clients with spinal cord injuries and other physical disabilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver high-quality services that meet the Human Services Quality Standards and align with the principles and service philosophy of Spinal Life Australia.
  • Read, understand, and action Individual Support Plans (ISPs) and Resident Hazard Inspections (RHIs), taking direction from the Client Service Officer (CSO).
  • Contribute to the completion of annual performance appraisals for Personal Support Workers in consultation with clients and CSO, addressing any performance shortfalls.
  • Complete On-the-Job Training Checklists for new PSWs joining the team.
  • Utilize computer and smartphone technology to upload all support and training documentation to client and PSW Carelink files in a timely manner.
Requirements
  • Previous experience as a Support Worker.
  • Emotional awareness, resilience, and responsiveness to the changing support needs of clients and Personal Support Workers in the team.
  • Genuine, reliable workers with inherent integrity and respect for individual choice and client confidentiality.
  • A current NDIS Workers Screening (QLD) and a Working with Children Check (Blue Card) or willingness to apply for one.
  • A current driver's license and vehicle.
  • A smartphone (willingness to download our MDM system).
  • Completion of the NDIS Worker Orientation Module (receive a certificate on completion).
  • Ability to perform a physically demanding role, including lifting, bending, carrying, crouching, driving, and working in restricted spaces.
