Urban Development Team Leader

We are seeking a Senior Urban Development Team Leader to join our team in Canberra. The successful candidate will have a strong background in urban development and be able to lead our team in developing strategic plans and initiatives that assist with the growth of the sector.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Direct the day-to-day allocation of resources across the discipline to meet project requirements, identifying priorities, and organising tasks accordingly
  • Lead in the effective planning and management of significant projects across the Discipline
  • Managing work technically and contractually to ensure that it meets technical requirements and is performed within the bounds of the organisations policies and procedures
  • Managing effective and efficient project delivery and quality, including meeting deadlines, commitments, and expectations, and ensuring strong cost management across the team
  • Developing business opportunities and overseeing bid management processes in the ACT region and surrounds
  • Coordinating resource sharing between other teams within the sector
  • Managing, training and mentoring staff
  • Foster and promote a diverse and inclusive team culture where employees feel they belong. Actively seek to understand and respect all dimensions of diversity, applying this to all daily work and decision making
Requirements:
  • Tertiary qualification in engineering or a related field
  • At least 10 years of experience in the Urban Development sector
  • A CPEng status is highly desirable but not essential
  • Excellent project management skills
  • Strong relationships in the Urban Development sector
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills and leadership ability
  • Demonstrated experience in managing an individual team is highly desirable
  • Understanding of ACT specifications and procedures is highly desirable
