About the Role

As a seasoned irrigation expert, you will be responsible for overseeing the efficient delivery of water and fertiliser to our almond orchard spanning approximately 465 hectares. Your key focus areas include ensuring optimal water levels for almond growth, operating and maintaining irrigation system components, monitoring and reporting on irrigation data, managing an irrigation team, and conducting regular maintenance on irrigation infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Scheduling and managing irrigation operations to ensure optimal water levels for almond growth.
  • Operating and maintaining irrigation system components including pumps, filtration, and drip lines.
  • Monitoring and reporting on irrigation data, water table readings, and power usage.
  • Managing an irrigation team to perform tasks effectively.
  • Ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.

Requirements

  • Previous experience as an Irrigation Manager or Irrigation 2IC, preferably with almonds or similar crops.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience managing budgets and working within cost constraints.
  • Current driver's licence.
