Job Title: Systems Engineering Expert

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Systems Engineer to join our team at Lockheed Martin Australia. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for performing technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems.

About the Project:

The AIR6500 Futures project is a deployable ground-based, medium-range, air-defence (GBMRAD) capability designed to deter, deny and/or defeat air and missile threats to the Joint Force and valuable assets. As a Senior Systems Engineer, you will work on this exciting project, developing key interface definitions, resolving design and solution trade-offs against system requirements, and creating technical documents and artefacts such as solution descriptions, trade studies and definition of requirements.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Resolve system and sub-system level requirements through decomposition and design, representing these in the Model Based Engineering (MBE) environment.
  • Develop key interface definitions, representing these in the MBE Environment.
  • Resolving design and solution Trade-Offs against System Requirements.
  • Developing key AIR6500 technical documents and artefacts such as solution descriptions, trade studies and definition of requirements.

About You:

To be successful in this role, you will have extensive experience with development of systems design for large complex systems, impressive experience trading off designs and solutions with an understanding of the potential component level, sub-system level, and system level impacts. You will also require:

  • Significant knowledge in one or more of the Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Intelligence, Surveillance, Reconnaissance and Electronic Warfare (C4ISREW) domains.
  • Excellent understanding of Model Based Systems Development (MBSD) and Model Based Engineering (MBE) principles.
  • Extensive experience with development of systems design for large complex systems.
  • Experience with DoDAF, SysML, MagicDraw, Rhapsody or similar will be an advantage.
  • Significant knowledge and experience undertaking Agile development.
  • Eligibility to gain an Australian NV-1 security clearance and ability to access/handle Export Controlled technology, data and information.
