Job Description

The Field Service Technician will provide breakdown and general service for all makes of Compressors and ancillary equipment. The role involves promoting quality workmanship and ensuring customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

Customer Support

\
  • \
  • Provide after-hours call-out assistance and call-back availability when rostered on duty.\
  • Conduct overnight field trips to service breakdowns, perform maintenance, and support customers.\
  • Promote medium to long-term customers in preventative maintenance plans.\
  • Provide internal and external customer support for assigned equipment.\
  • Complete documentation and administrative requirements.\
  • Pass sales leads to the sales team.\
  • Achieve weekly and monthly productivity targets.\
  • Ensure company-owned equipment and premises are kept clean and presentable.\
  • Train, support, coach, and mentor new and existing colleagues.\

Breakdown, Maintenance & Repair

  • Install, repair, and maintain a range of Compressors.\
  • Coordinate and contribute to the day-to-day running of the Business Team. In case of breakdowns, test equipment/system, perform fault finding, and carry out repairs.\
  • Conduct technical preventative maintenance and general servicing.\
  • Ensure work sites are left clean and tidy after servicing.\

  • Conduct risk assessments and ensure a safe working environment at all times.\
  • Maintain safety compliance with relevant legislation and regulations.\
  • Eliminate risks by conducting housekeeping and mitigating hazards before starting work.\
  • Promote incident reporting, including near misses, accidents, or equipment damage.\
  • Participate in and conduct safety audits for assigned areas.\

  • Submit risk assessments and Job Safety Analyses within 48 hours of completion.\
  • Submit timesheets daily, including hours worked, work conducted, location, and job number.\

Required Skills and Qualifications

Key Competencies

  • Knowledge of Compressors or similar equipment is essential.\
  • Ability to communicate technical information effectively to internal and external customers.\
  • Intermediate computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).\
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.\
  • Ability to determine root causes of issues.\
  • Organized self-starter.\
  • Trade Qualifications, Cert III – Fitter and Turner, with a minimum of 5 years maintenance experience.\
