Job Title: Tree Maintenance Professional

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Arborist to join our team. As a key member of our maintenance crew, you will be responsible for ensuring the health and safety of trees within our municipality.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform arboricultural maintenance on Council-owned trees in parks, reserves, bushland, and streets.
  • Utilize climbing techniques and EWPs to complete pruning and/or removal works as required throughout the municipality.
  • Be prepared to work beyond regular hours to attend emergency situations, including tree failures or to assist on-call Arborists; apply award penalty rates in addition to normal pay.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Certificate III in Arboriculture (Climbing Arborist) or equivalent.
  • Extensive experience in a similar role with high-profile scheduled tree maintenance programs.
  • Current MR Driver's License (or willingness to attain in the very short term as a requirement of the role).
  • Computer literacy and sound knowledge of Work Health and Safety with practical application of safe working procedures.
  • Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team and coordinate team members as required; well-developed communication skills with experience dealing with the public.
  • Proven problem-solving skills and a willingness to follow issues through to completion.
  • Willingness to participate in a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Construction Induction Card (and any other listed mandatory qualifications).
Benefits
  • Competitive base salary up to $80,249.65 p.a. plus super plus overtime penalty rates.
  • Additional allowances up to $3,073 per annum.
  • Fortnightly rostered day off; 38 hours per week; flexible work/life balance.
  • Location: Alexandria facility with onsite parking; travel to Woollahra municipality as required.
