We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Accounting Operations Specialist to join our team. As an integral member of the Business Services department, you will play a key role in enhancing the internal finance function of our clients.

About the Role

This is a challenging and rewarding opportunity for a motivated professional with strong accounting skills and experience in managing financial operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing management accounts, producing VAT returns, and supporting junior team members with queries.

The ideal candidate will possess outstanding technical proficiency, leadership skills, and excellent communication abilities. They will also have a proven track record of working effectively in a team environment and delivering high-quality results under pressure.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Preparation of timely and accurate management accounts for sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies.
  • Production and review of VAT returns for various clients in different industries.
  • Supporting junior team members with queries and providing guidance on financial operations.
  • Cultivating a high-performing team through effective leadership, training, support, and development.
  • Assessing and enhancing finance systems and processes to support efficient and accurate accounts processing.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • ICAWE/ACCA/CIMA qualification or equivalent experience.
  • Prior experience within an accountancy/bookkeeping practice or professional services environment.
  • High-level IT proficiency and ability to use packages such as Xero, Quickbooks, Sage, and others.
  • Excellent communication skills: confident and articulate in dealing with a wide range of clients.
  • A strong grasp of ICT/relevant software systems and a willingness to utilize them to their full potential.
  • A proven track record of working to deadlines and effectively handling multiple priorities.
  • A vigilant approach to dealing with sensitive information and maintaining confidentiality.
