Home Care Worker

As a Home Care Worker at Uniting AgeWell, you will play a vital role in delivering direct personal care and domestic assistance to clients in their own homes. This may include assisting with showering, grooming, personal hygiene, dressing, and mobility needs, as well as providing social support and transportation services as required.
Key Responsibilities- Provide personal care and support to clients in their own homes, including assistance with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, and grooming.
- Assist clients with domestic tasks such as meal preparation and household chores.
- Travel between clients' homes to provide care and support.
- Observe clients' physical, emotional, and behavioural status, and report any observations or concerns to the relevant authorities.
- Ensure clients' rights, cultural, spiritual, and other individual needs are respected in all aspects of care and daily living.
- Provide exceptional customer service by maintaining friendly, supportive, and professional relationships with clients, their relatives, and friends.
- A Certificate III/IV or equivalent in Individual Support (Aged or Disability), or be currently pursuing a Diploma or Bachelor of Nursing.
- A current Victorian Driver's Licence.
- A registered, roadworthy vehicle with comprehensive car insurance.
- Current First Aid and CPR certificates, or a willingness to obtain them.
- Previous experience in a home care setting or in providing domestic support (desirable).
- Knowledge of community care and a commitment to maintaining high standards for clients and their families.
- An understanding of client-directed care.
- The ability to thrive in a team environment while also valuing one-on-one interactions.
- Working With Children Check (Employee).
- A satisfactory National Criminal Police Record Check OR NDIS Worker Screening Check.
- Annual vaccination(s) as per the Uniting AgeWell vaccination policy.
- Australian work rights.
