This is a part-time (0.2 FTE) appointment on a fixed term basis until .... The base salary range is Level C, $139,000 - $159,893 p.a. (pro-rata) plus 17% superannuation. A rural and remote allowance applies for those living in the immediate area, and clinical loading may be applicable.
The Rural Clinical School of Western Australia (RCSWA) has been established since 2002 to help deliver better health outcomes for people living in country WA. Our vision for the future is to build on our successes and foster an exceptional locally trained, research-driven, collegiate, academic and clinical community, providing equitable healthcare to rural and remote WA.
As a Medical Coordinator, you will deliver world-class innovative medical education and training to medical students and assist in the support of preceptors and host practitioners. There is also a commitment to being involved in research and/or evaluation relevant to improving rural health. In consultation with local medical practitioners and agencies, you will maintain and contribute to the development of local educational programs that meet the requirements of the RCSWA and take advantage of local opportunities and strengths.
To be successful in this role, you must be a registered or able to be registered with AHPRA as a Medical Practitioner, committed to working in medical practice in rural WA, available to work in the respective RCSWA site, and able to network with rural practitioners in the region. Experience as a preceptor and/or supervisor of medical students and/or junior doctors or registrars is also required, along with a commitment to the principles and practice of Indigenous health in rural and regional areas and to rural medical education and improving rural medical workforce.
