Cost Control Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Cost Control Specialist to join our project delivery team. In this role, you will be responsible for providing timely and accurate cost analysis and reporting, including productivity and other measures, to support informed decision-making on matters affecting cost outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in the preparation and analysis of cost reports, budgets, and forecasts
  • Work closely with procurement, contracts & commercial teams to monitor budgets, commitments, expenditures & forecasts
  • Liase with planning to integrate cost with physical progress & productivity
  • Maintain resourcing requirements, PAFs & rates
  • Assist with accurate cost control information including detailed analysis of budget, commitments, expenditure, VOWD, forecasting & change control
  • Monitor and track project costs, ensuring adherence to budgetary constraints
  • Collaborate with project managers and other stakeholders to identify cost-saving opportunities
Requirements:
  • Prior experience in cost control & analysis in a project delivery environment is a distinct advantage
  • Tertiary qualifications in project controls, quantity surveying, commercial or a related field
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Basic knowledge of ERP software (Oracle and/or SAP) and project control software
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
