Research Scientist Opportunity


We are seeking a talented individual to undertake research in metallomics studies, including the preparation of responsive fluorescent sensors for application in biological systems.
The successful candidate will have a PhD (or near completion) in organic chemistry, chemical biology, protein engineering or a closely related discipline, with experience in the synthesis, purification and characterization of organic molecules, and the use of research methodologies relevant to metallomics.
This role involves conducting scholarly activities under limited supervision, either independently or as a member of a team, and has opportunities for student supervision at the undergraduate and graduate level.
In this position, you will be part of a collaborative and dynamic environment, with a strong focus on interdisciplinary research. The successful candidate will be expected to publish research papers, assist with grant writing, and support teaching activities.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Conduct research in metallomics studies, including the preparation of responsive fluorescent sensors
2. Pursue advanced knowledge in organic chemistry, chemical biology, and protein engineering
3. Develop and apply research methodologies relevant to metallomics
4. Supervise students at the undergraduate and graduate levels
5. Collaborate with colleagues in an interdisciplinary research environment

Requirements:
- PhD (or near completion) in organic chemistry, chemical biology, protein engineering or a closely related discipline
- Experience in the synthesis, purification and characterization of organic molecules
- Strong understanding of research methodologies relevant to metallomics
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
