Accounts Receivable Manager

We are seeking an experienced Accounts Receivable Manager to join our team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a skilled professional to take on a leadership role and contribute to the success of our organisation.

About the Role:

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a team of Accounts Receivable Officers, communicating and explaining work procedures to subordinates. They will also be responsible for managing collection activities such as negotiating with past-due accounts, referring accounts to collection agencies, and sending follow-ups. Additionally, they will ensure customers are invoiced promptly and accurately with appropriate support documents.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a team of Accounts Receivable Officers, communicate and explain work procedures to subordinates
  • Manage collection activities such as negotiating with past-due accounts, referring accounts to collection agencies, and sending follow-ups
  • Ensure customers are invoiced promptly and accurately with appropriate support documents
  • Weekly interface of invoices from AFT to Great Plains (Microsoft GP)
  • Daily banking - cheques, EFT, credit cards, cash on delivery
  • Daily cash receipting of payments according to remittance advices
  • Daily debt collection with prioritisation on most overdue debt
  • Daily collections commitments summary must be updated daily for cash planning
  • Ensure disputed/unpaid charges are investigated and resolved promptly, with credit notes and claims processed as authorised and support documents provided where necessary
  • Ensure all intercompany invoices are recorded and statement reconciliations completed (monthly)
  • Statements aged and sent to customers monthly so reconciliations can be completed by both parties
  • Manage collection activities such as negotiating with past-due accounts, referring account to collection agencies, and sending follow-ups
  • Complete trade references and credit checks on new customers
  • Appropriate record keeping of invoices, cash receipts, reconciliations for audit purposes
  • Working closely with other finance team members

Requirements:

  • Candidates should hold CPA/CA qualification or working towards this qualification
  • 3 years in a finance role is preferred
  • Skills and experience with Microsoft excel are required
  • Skills and experience with ERP systems are highly desirable
