Senior Salon Operations Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced leader to oversee the performance, operations, and growth of grooming salons across Victoria. This is a hands-on leadership role requiring a deep understanding of the grooming industry, strong people management skills, and the ability to drive operational excellence across multiple locations.

This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and results-driven individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment. As Senior Salon Operations Manager, you will be responsible for leading and managing salon managers and grooming teams across all locations in the state.

You will ensure that grooming quality, animal welfare, and hygiene standards are consistently upheld, while monitoring and driving salon performance against key metrics such as revenue, appointments, and customer satisfaction.

The successful candidate will have proven experience managing multi-site teams in a grooming, retail, or service-based business, with a strong focus on leadership, coaching, and people development.

Able to work independently, prioritize tasks effectively, and meet deadlines, this role requires a business acumen with comfort managing KPIs, budgets, and operational targets. You will also be an excellent communicator and problem solver, able to build strong relationships with team members, customers, and national leadership.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage salon managers and grooming teams across all locations in the state
  • Ensure grooming quality, animal welfare, and hygiene standards are consistently upheld
  • Monitor and drive salon performance against key metrics (revenue, appointments, customer satisfaction)
  • Recruit, onboard, and train new team members; support ongoing skill development
  • Provide coaching, feedback, and performance management to individuals and teams
  • Support salons with rostering, inventory management, and compliance requirements
  • Identify opportunities for improvement and implement process or service enhancements
  • Collaborate with national leadership on strategy, promotions, and expansion plans
  • Resolve customer escalations and maintain a high level of service delivery
  • Ensure salons are compliant with all relevant health, safety, and animal care regulations
Requirements:
  • Proven experience managing multi-site teams in a grooming, retail, or service-based business
  • Previous grooming experience preferred
  • Strong leadership, coaching, and people development skills
  • Business acumen – comfortable managing KPIs, budgets, and operational targets
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making ability under pressure
  • Passion for animals and commitment to animal welfare
  • Confident using scheduling systems, POS, or grooming salon software
