Occupational Therapist

The Occupational Therapist - Hand Therapy Specialist will work in the hand therapy stream to ensure safe and effective evidence-based clinical care for patients and their families. This position is based in the out-patient hand therapy service that provides evidence-based therapy to patients with traumatic, chronic, and post-operative conditions affecting their hand function.
Key Responsibilities- Support, teach, and train Grade 1 OT staff members, assistants, and students.
- Support the grade 3 and 4 in managing the clinical stream and assist in managing the workload allocation.
- Provide evidence-based therapy to patients with traumatic, chronic, and post-operative conditions affecting their hand function.
- Extensive clinical experience in assessment, treatment, and goal setting of highly complex client groups.
- Leadership skills with the ability to motivate, mentor, and inspire others.
- Highly developed teaching and supervision skills with a commitment to growing the skills of your team.
- A collaborative spirit and an ability to build networks and strong relationships with peers and leaders.
- Excellent communication and decision-making skills.
- Demonstrated passion for research and best practices.
