As an Inventory Controller, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our supply chain. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Overseeing inventory and supply chain management to ensure accurate stock levels and timely deliveries.
  • Performing critical inventory tasks to ensure the correct amount of items are in stock.
  • Maintaining updated and accurate records of inventory, including transfers and cycle counts.
  • Liaising with Production and Planning departments to ensure adequate levels of inventory.
  • Controlling the annual stocktake process, producing variance reports and investigating all stock issues to ensure stock accuracy.
  • Reviewing documentation and monitoring product codes to search for discrepancies between stock and records.
  • Developing and implementing improvements to existing operational procedures to maximise efficiency and cut operations costs.
  • Responding to sales inquiries and purchase orders; collecting and analysing data to determine appropriate order quantities; processing orders for shipment.
  • Reviewing operations schedules and production requirements to ensure timely order fulfillment.
  • Tracking rates of accuracy, purchase, and return as well as defective items to inform quality control decisions.
  • Preparing, generating, and filing financial inventory reports; reviewing reports monthly with management.
  • Nurturing positive relationships with internal and external suppliers and providing customer service as needed.
  • Learning general duties completed by purchasing officer to provide shift cover when required.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Relevant Inventory Controller and Warehousing experience within a fast-paced environment.
  • SAP (MM) and Maximo software experience with good working knowledge of Windows and Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to analyse data and create forecasts for future inventory needs.
  • A working knowledge of GMP, HACCP and Food Safety.
  • Exceptional communication skills, dealing with internal and external stakeholders and the ability to form effective working relationships.
  • A high level of attention to detail and organisational skills.
  • Advanced MS Excel, MS Word and WMS experience.
  • Ability to work independently and part of a team.
  • Understanding of the general duties of a purchasing officer.
