Role Overview

The position of Trainee Production Services Operator has become available at our Birkenhead plant. This role offers an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual to contribute to the cement manufacturing process from day one.

The successful applicant will be based on day shift with relief rotating shift work as required. They will receive comprehensive on-the-job training and development opportunities, allowing them to grow within our organisation.

About the Role

This is a full-time permanent position that involves manual physical work on the plant including labouring and cleaning. The candidate will also be responsible for loading and unloading materials and products to/from ships, operating fixed and mobile machinery, providing relief to shift operations where required, and undertaking training to obtain additional licences necessary for the role.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Exhibit a strong commitment to environment, quality, health, safety and wellbeing
  • Possess a desire for further career development with a proactive and positive attitude
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Desirable to hold current HR, forklift, front-end-loader, and skid steer licence
  • Be physically fit and comfortable when working in confined spaces
  • Have an aptitude for all things mechanical
  • Have basic computing skills
  • Show initiative to succeed when troubleshooting and problem solving
  • Demonstrate an ability to work as part of a team but equally at home working autonomously
