Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Production Leader to oversee the operation of an Underground Longwall-based mining site.

This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated professional to work in a challenging and rewarding environment, leading a team to meet business objectives in safety, efficiency, cost, and equipment performance.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a team of Undermanagers and Engineering Coordinators, ensuring compliance with the daily plan and taking corrective actions as necessary.

Liaison with other Superintendents will also be required to achieve budgeted targets.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage Shift Undermanagers and Engineering Coordinators to support safe and efficient implementation of the mine plan.
  • Review compliance with the daily plan and ensure corrective actions have taken place.
  • Liaise with other Superintendents to achieve budgeted targets.

Requirements:

  • Diploma in Underground Coal Mining Management.
  • Current Practising Certificate.
  • 10+ years management experience in the mining industry or similar.
  • Risk Management qualifications (G2/G3).
  • ICAM basics – Accident/Incident Investigation.
  • Certificate IV Leadership & Management.
  • Strong understanding of mine safety and environmental systems.
  • Solid computer literacy skills and geological/geotechnical knowledge.
  • Excellent work ethic and attendance record.
  • Commitment to site safety and operational practices.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal suited to multiple audiences.
