Finance Manager Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Finance Manager to join our client, a renowned Australian Arts institution, on an eight-month fixed-term contract. This is a great opportunity to work with a creative and welcoming team, with a focus on financial management and reporting.

About the Role

The Finance Manager will report to the CFO/COO and will be responsible for managing the day-to-day finance team, including two direct reports. Key responsibilities will include:

  • Managing the finance team and ensuring the smooth operation of financial processes
  • Preparing and presenting financial reports to the CFO and other stakeholders
  • Assisting with budgeting and forecasting
  • Acting as the main contact for the Auditors
  • Ensuring compliance with government requirements and regulations

Requirements

To be considered for this role, you will need:

  • Experience in a finance management role, preferably in an externally funded environment
  • Proven ability to manage a small team and lead by example
  • Strong accounting skills and knowledge of financial reporting and analysis
  • Professional qualifications as an Accountant (e.g. CA / CPA or similar)
  • A strong get-up-and-go personality and ability to business partner effectively
