Job Overview

This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic team as a Policy Advisor. The role involves providing expert advice and analysis to support the development of visitor economy policy for the Australian Government.


Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare high-quality policy briefs, reports and correspondence for senior executives and ministers.
  • Liaise with stakeholders in industry, state, territory and Commonwealth governments to inform policy decisions.
  • Support the development of tourism grants and provide official tourism statistics.

Requirements
  • Australian Citizenship - Our successful candidate must be an Australian citizen.
  • Security Clearance - Our successful candidate will be required to obtain and maintain a Baseline security clearance.

About the Role

The Policy Advisor will work closely with a range of Commonwealth agencies, states and territories, industry and researchers to develop innovative and effective policy outcomes for tourism. They will use insights from engagement and tourism data to support ministers in delivering the national visitor economy strategy.


Duties
  1. Preparation of evidence-based policy advice, briefings and correspondence for the Minister, Assistant Minister and Senior Executive.
  2. Delivery of effective research and analysis and liaison with stakeholders in industry, state, territory and Commonwealth governments.
  3. Providing secretariat support for whole-of-government and national committees.

Skills and Qualifications
  • Experience in policy development and analysis.
  • Strong research and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
