Job Description: We are seeking a seasoned leader to oversee the development and execution of our Safety Management Systems (SMS), Governance, and Resilience frameworks. This critical role will play a pivotal part in ensuring the safe operation of our regional airlines, covering all aspects of People and Operational Safety.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development and execution of SMS, Governance, and Resilience frameworks across QantasLink Airlines.
  • Provide strategic leadership and influence stakeholders to ensure safety performance, issues, and risks are visible to senior management.
  • Collaborate with Group SMS and other departments to achieve organizational goals.
  • Ensure the integrity of governance and reporting frameworks, including executive and board safety reporting.
  • Develop and implement safety engagement initiatives to enhance organizational resilience and safety culture maturity.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 8+ years' experience in safety, risk, and change management or high-risk operational roles within complex organizations.
  • Relevant degree in Safety or Operational Management.
  • Meet the requirements for approval by CASA under the CASR 119.165 (Safety Manager).
  • Experience in IOSA Registration within an airline is advantageous.
