Job Overview:

This role presents an exceptional opportunity to drive strategic improvements in occupational health, safety and wellbeing across a national and international landscape.

About the Position:

The Health, Safety & Wellbeing function operates under a 'Hub and Spoke' model, with common functions managed centrally and specialist services provided within each operational Division.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support delivery of the HSW Strategic Plan and AAD Safety Improvement Plan
  • Collaborate with the HSW Hub to ensure alignment between the Department's system and standards and the AAD System and safety manual
  • Identify and assess new technologies to enhance workplace safety operations
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of AAD's systems and processes, recommending improvements as needed
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and provide insights to senior leadership

Essential Qualifications and Skills:

At least 5-7 years of experience in a comparable role with leadership experience. Familiarity with contemporary safety thinking based on behavioural science, driving innovation, promoting advances in safety culture and systems, and selecting implementing technology to support HSW systems are essential.

Desirable Capabilities:

Ability to develop key relationships, manage projects, communicate risks and policies, adapt to changing circumstances, influence and negotiate, and identify innovative solutions.
