Job Description

We are seeking an expert in special collections to join our team at the National Library of Australia as a Coordinator.

About the Role
  • This is a unique opportunity to work with rare and significant materials, supporting the Library's reference and research services.
  • Deliver exceptional support to clients, providing expertise on the delivery of reference services for special collections.
Your Key Responsibilities
  • Provide technical knowledge related to special collections in the Library's Reading Rooms (face-to-face), online, and phone reference channels.
  • Coach and support staff in the use of special collections, developing content for staff and reader education on the collection's use.
  • Develop policies relating to the provision of reference services and contribute ideas for service improvement initiatives.
Requirements
  • A flexible team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to work regular evening and weekend shifts during the Library's advertised reading room opening hours.
