Leading Instrument and Control Systems Expert

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Instrument and Controls Engineer to join our engineering team. As part of this role, you will be responsible for providing engineering support for development and select stay-in-business projects.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver front-end engineering (FEL) to enhance value and access a larger reserve base.
- Ensure project scope aligns with the asset operating philosophy.
- Provide owners' engineering input to prevent scope drift and ensure compliance with Australian and international standards.
- Identify cost-reduction and resource recovery opportunities.
- Balance risk and reward for safe, operable facilities with low lifecycle cost.
You will work closely with engineers and teams to identify synergies in design and equipment selection and collaborate on updates to standards and deviations/waivers.
Requirements- 10+ years of experience within the oil and gas or similar industry, inclusive of 5-7 years in instrument and control engineering within upstream or processing facilities.
- Relevant Australian and industry standards knowledge.
- Chartered Engineer and RPEQ certification.
- Desirable: Certified Functional Safety Engineer, postgraduate qualification in Project Management, familiarity with project management processes, and technical competencies aligning with Santos Technical Authority Level 2 (TA2).
The ideal candidate will have a bachelor's or master's degree in electrical, electronics, or control system engineering and be familiar with relevant Australian and industry standards.
