Job Title: Airport Operations Manager

We are seeking an experienced and skilled professional to lead our airport operations team. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our airport facilities.

About this Role:

This role is critical in maintaining the highest standards of service delivery, compliance, and safety across all airport operations. You will be responsible for managing day-to-day activities, coordinating with teams, and overseeing operational efficiency.

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the day-to-day operational activities of the airport.
  • Coordinate and supervise the team to ensure efficient service delivery to clients and aircraft.
  • Oversee operational activities to ensure flights are serviced according to agreed-upon standards, meet customer expectations, and achieve optimal turnaround times.
  • Manage ongoing operational costs and make recommendations for process improvements.
  • SUPPORTS business development initiatives by implementing systems and procedures that enhance operational efficiency.
  • Makes recommendations on service procedures, quality enhancements, and business growth opportunities.
  • Attends to major operational problems and troubleshoots issues to resolve them promptly.
  • Ensures timely communication of changes in client specifications or recurring issues to the team to address customer concerns.
  • Responsible for delivering a strong safety culture among staff members, adhering to policies, and wearing provided personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Ownership of risk management from sections and ensures corrective actions are documented in the issue register.
  • Investigates, analyzes, and implements corrective action plans to resolve production and operational issues.
  • Reviews incidents and maintenance reports to minimize future risks.

Requirements:

  • Demonstrated success in a similar leadership role.
  • Proven experience in supervising large teams, preferably over 500 personnel.
  • Familiarity with airline catering operations processes.
  • Strong leadership agility, diplomacy, and problem-solving skills.
  • Able to work flexibly between office and floor environments as needed.
  • High energy level and results-driven attitude with ability to collaborate across teams.
  • Good understanding of food safety, WHS, and quality assurance principles.
  • Proficiency in PC applications, including automated time and attendance systems and other business-related software.
  • Competent in various systems such as dnata, customers, truck maintenance MEXX, requisitions, food ordering JDI, customer service, logistics (GP4, MICAS, DHL portal, Agility portal) and others like Alpha net, Converga, Dnata Global Hub, Human Force, HR Onboard.
  • Holder of current HR Licence and forklift licence.
  • Must obtain a clear National Police Check due to aviation industry requirements.
