Job Opportunity

About the Role:

  • We are seeking a skilled professional to provide generalist counselling services to clients in our residential program.
  • The successful applicant will be available for allocation of clients when demand exceeds staffing and annual leave coverage.

Main Responsibilities:

  • To deliver evidence-informed services, including psychosocial assessment, treatment planning, counselling, and other relevant modalities to clients.
  • To develop caring and supportive relationships with clients and their families/carers.
  • To identify and respond to significant risk factors or deterioration in client's condition and develop an appropriate management plan.
  • To provide interventions to motivate clients toward change, including harm minimisation and relapse prevention strategies.

Requirements:

  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline (Psychology, Social Work, Counselling) and registration with a relevant governing body are required.
  • A sound understanding of professional, ethical, and legal requirements that underpin the treatment and clinical management of alcohol and other drug problems is necessary.
