Generalist Counsellor

We are seeking a qualified professional to provide generalist counselling services to clients in our multidisciplinary team. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for providing evidence-informed services, including psychosocial assessment, treatment planning, and other relevant modalities.

The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of alcohol and other drug theoretical frameworks, national guidelines, and evidence-based therapeutic interventions. They will also have a sound knowledge of professional, ethical, and legal requirements that underpin the treatment and clinical management of substance use disorders.

About This Role
  • Provide high-quality counselling services to clients, utilising a range of interventions and strategies to achieve positive outcomes
  • Develop and implement effective treatment plans, working closely with clients and other healthcare professionals as required
  • Identify and respond to significant risk factors or deterioration in client condition, developing and implementing appropriate management plans as necessary
  • Maintain accurate records and communicate effectively with clients, families, and carers
Requirements
  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant field (Psychology, Social Work, Counselling) and registration with AHPRA or equivalent
  • Strong knowledge and application of alcohol and other drug theoretical frameworks, national guidelines, and evidence-based therapeutic interventions
  • A sound understanding of professional, ethical, and legal requirements that underpin the treatment and clinical management of substance use disorders
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team, prioritise workload, and deliver care with integrity and accountability
