We are seeking an experienced Facilities Manager to join our team in Winton, Queensland.

This is a full-time role based in the heart of Outback Queensland, with a fixed-term contract from 24 March 2025 to 14 October 2025, with potential for a permanent role for the right candidate.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the day-to-day maintenance and operations of the museum's diverse facilities and grounds, as well as its offsite locations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintenance and Operations Oversight: Manage the museum's buildings, grounds, and infrastructure to ensure they remain safe, functional, and well-maintained.
  • Vehicle and Equipment Maintenance: Oversee maintenance operations for vehicles, machinery, and equipment, ensuring compliance with safety standards.
  • Documentation and Site Services: Document procedures, manage site services (power, water, communications), and coordinate pest control and waste management.
  • Team Supervision: Supervise a small team, including grounds staff, and provide hands-on assistance where required.
Requirements
  • A valid Australian manual driver's licence
  • A current Working with Children Blue Card (or the ability to obtain one)
  • Facilities management or maintenance experience in a relevant industry
  • Basic mechanical, carpentry, plumbing, or general maintenance skills
  • A strong understanding of workplace health and safety regulations
