Role Summary:

The Breeder Production Farm Manager oversees and coordinates the operations of a 6-shed breeder production farm, ensuring the achievement of short and long-term business objectives.

  • Manage a team of people and prioritize their safety
  • Ensure bird welfare and animal husbandry for fertile egg production
  • Maintain biosecurity
Key Responsibilities:

- Coordinate all farm activities to achieve business objectives

- Monitor alarms and coordinate replacements when unavailable

- Lead the team in specialist tasks, including bird health, feeding, egg grading, and monitoring shed conditions

- Undertake serological monitoring and administer medications as required

- Ensure farm administration duties are performed according to guidelines

About You:

- Previous poultry experience is essential

- Conversant with animal welfare standards, legislative obligations, and Health, Safety, and Environment policies and procedures

- Experience operating shed controllers and automated egg collecting machines

- Self-motivated with effective time management skills and ability to manage multiple tasks

Requirements:

- Ability to lead a team safely and according to values

- Decision-making and problem-solving skills

- Excellent communication skills
