Job Title: Family Support Specialist

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Family Support Specialist to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual who is passionate about delivering high-quality services to children and families in need.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver services and support across a range of council and government funded programs within the Family Support Services team.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure that children and families can access and maintain engagement with services.
  • Promote safety of children and families experiencing violence through domestic and family violence interventions.
  • Facilitate appropriate referral pathways and funding opportunities available to families.
  • Understand the barriers and enablers experienced by families accessing services including housing, child protection, educational institutions and mental health.

Requirements:
  • A degree in Social Work or other qualification suitable for practice in the Child and Families sector.
  • Significant experience or knowledge of complex case management delivery, mental health, child development, parenting support and domestic and family violence sector.
  • Demonstrated experience utilising best practice models in relation to children and families in the context of vulnerability and trauma.
