This job posting isn't available in all website languages. The Australian Prudential Regulation Authority is seeking a skilled Business Analyst to join the Data Strategy and Governance team. The role will work closely with stakeholders across APRA to elicit and capture requirements, analyze existing data management and governance related business processes, simplify, automate and reduce operational and data risks through the delivery of enhanced processes and technology solutions.

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and documenting data governance frameworks and processes that support effective data management and decision-making. They will lead the identification and visualization of data governance-related processes using industry-standard methodologies, conduct assessments of existing governance practices, provide actionable recommendations aligned with business priorities, facilitate workshops, interviews, and meetings to gather requirements, validate findings, and ensure alignment across business, data, and technology teams.

The ideal candidate will have proven experience as a Business Analyst in data governance, data quality, or data management projects, strong business analysis skills including requirements gathering and definition, analysis, business process mapping (as-is / to-be), impact analysis, running workshops, excellent stakeholder management capability, ability to discuss requirements with technical stakeholders, and synthesise business requirements into an agreed statement of needs for process, people and technology.

They will also be able to demonstrate strong analytical, investigative and research skills, including analysis and presentation, and a good understanding of the financial services industry and its regulatory framework. The role will play a key part in strengthening APRA's technology and data infrastructure and capabilities, providing its people with data and insights to drive continued excellence in supervision.

About You
  • Proven experience as a Business Analyst in data governance, data quality, or data management projects.
  • Strong business analysis skills including requirements gathering and definition, analysis, business process mapping (as-is / to-be), impact analysis, running workshops.
  • Excellent stakeholder management capability – ability to form good working relationships, influence outcomes, and work closely with disparate stakeholders to come to solutions that meet all needs.
