Legal Professional Role

We are seeking an experienced lawyer to join our team. Based in our iconic Sydney property, this role will provide you with the opportunity to work on a diverse range of matters across all aspects of business.

The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of PQE and experience within a hospitality or similar environment. They must also have a relevant Law degree and Admission to practice as a Solicitor in NSW or another State in Australia.

  • This is a high-pressure, fast-paced, and highly-regulated environment where strong time-management skills and ability to thrive in a dynamic setting are essential.
  • The selected candidate will be responsible for providing timely, commercially focused advice to business units on day-to-day matters and drafting, negotiating, and advising on various contractual matters.
  • They will also assist in the development of policies, procedures, and training staff on relevant legal issues, review marketing and promotions collateral, and work closely with the Compliance & Regulatory Affairs team on compliance matters relating to gaming and liquor legislation.
Key Responsibilities:
  1. Providing timely, commercially focused advice to business units;
  2. Drafting, negotiating, and advising on various contractual matters;
  3. Assisting in the development of policies and procedures;
  4. Reviewing marketing and promotions collateral;
  5. Working closely with the Compliance & Regulatory Affairs team;
  6. Identifying areas of concern/importance for the company;
  7. Implementing risk management strategies;
  8. Engaging with external legal counsel;
  9. Providing assistance to the General Counsel & Company Secretary;
  10. Supporting the broader legal needs of the business;
Candidate Requirements

To succeed in this role, you'll need:

  • At least 5 years of PQE;
  • Experience within a hospitality, media, entertainment, or similar environment;
  • A relevant Law degree;
  • Admission to practice as a Solicitor in NSW or another State in Australia;
  • Excellent presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills;
  • Strong time-management skills;
  • The ability to thrive in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment;
  • Holds, or is eligible to obtain, all required Casino Employee Licenses;
  • Permanent and unrestricted Australian working rights.
