The role of a Support Specialist is to provide assistance and support to individuals with intellectual disabilities.
As a Support Specialist, you will work closely with participants to understand their needs and preferences, and develop tailored support plans that cater to their unique requirements.
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing care and support to participants in accordance with their individualized support plans.
- Assisting participants with daily living activities, such as personal care, meal preparation, and household management.
- Encouraging and promoting independence and self-advocacy skills among participants.
Key qualifications include:
- Experience working with individuals with intellectual disabilities or mental health conditions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with diverse individuals and groups.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
