Job Description

Our organization is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Youth Support Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our staff, you will play a vital role in providing support and care to children and young people living in out-of-home care.

Working with us, you will have the opportunity to make a positive impact in the lives of those who need it most. You will be responsible for engaging with and supporting young people who exhibit challenging behaviors, helping them achieve their social, educational, cultural, and emotional goals.

Requirements
  • Current Australian Driver's Licence (must be Open or P2)
  • Minimum Certificate IV in Child, Youth and Family Intervention or equivalent (or actively working towards it)
  • Availability for shift work (24-hour model), including weekdays, weekends, and sleepovers as scheduled
  • Approved Licensed Care Service (LSC) check through the department, or ability to obtain one
  • Current Paid Blue Card or willingness to obtain one
  • Current First Aid and CPR certificates, or willingness to obtain them
  • Flexibility to meet the organisation's needs
  • Ability to prioritise tasks and work under pressure to meet specific timeframes and targets
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including documentation, organisation, and reporting
  • Proficient computer skills, particularly in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Provide two recent professional references
