Job Title: Claims Assessment Specialist

About the Role:

The Claims Assessment Specialist will make decisions on claims acceptance or rejection, and transition claims to Case Managers for ongoing management. They will calculate PIAWE, advise Dispute Resolutions Managers on original decisions, and identify claim recovery potential.

To be successful in this role you will have:

Required Expertise:

  • At least 2 years of experience in initial claims assessment (Case Manager), or at least 1 year in a paralegal or legal assistant position
  • Strong working knowledge of Workplace Injury Rehabilitation & Compensation Act 2013 and associated Regulations, and/or a Legal Qualification
  • WorkCover scheme understanding
  • Teamwork skills
  • Flexibility and ability to adapt to change
  • Concern for others
  • Ability to follow rules and regulations
  • Intermediate to advanced computer skills: Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Knowledge of ACCtion and Novus, or similar case management system
