We are seeking a highly skilled professional to join our team as an Insurance Claims Specialist. This is a key role that requires expertise in assessing and approving insurance claims, collaborating with internal teams, and ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and policies.
The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in a similar role, with strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret data, identify trends, and make informed decisions.
Key Responsibilities:- Assess and approve death, terminal illness, and permanent incapacity claims in line with relevant legislation and policies.
- Review insurer-declined claims, participate in review meetings, and advocate for fair and just outcomes for our members.
- Collaborate with partners and internal teams to ensure insurance and claims administration is timely, accurate, and compliant.
- Proven experience in a similar role, insurance/claim management/administration (ideally within superannuation or insurance).
- Strong knowledge of insurance settlement processes, superannuation law, the SIS Act, and RG146 compliance.
- Sharp analytical skills – able to interpret data, identify trends/areas of concern, and make well-informed decisions.
- High level of compassion and excellent communication skills – you can explain complex decisions with clarity and care.
