Job Title: Cook - Strathalbyn

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Cook to join our Catering Services team at Strathalbyn Hospital. As a Cook, you will be responsible for the delivery of high-quality food production and distribution services to patients and staff. You will oversee the ordering of non-imprest food supplies, plating of meals, menu selections, and ensuring that quality control of food production is maintained.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and cook bulk meals for patients and staff
  • Prepare and cook meals for dietary requirements
  • Oversee the ordering of non-imprest food supplies
  • Plate meals and ensure presentation is appealing
  • Work in liaison with the Dietitian to meet specific nutritional requirements for patients/residents
  • Train and supervise catering staff as required
  • Allocate, inspect, and determine work priorities to ensure the quality and timeliness of work undertaken by employees

Requirements:

  • Trade qualifications or trade equivalent skills as a Cook
  • Previous experience in preparing and cooking bulk meals and in preparing and cooking for dietary requirements
  • Flexible approach to work and rostering systems
  • Ability to work well within a team environment and relate respectfully to all levels of staff
