About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic individual to join our team as a Food Services Assistant - Cleaning and Catering. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality catering and housekeeping services to our residents, visitors, and staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Undertake general cleaning and/or catering duties to maintain a clean and safe environment
  • Prepare, cook, and serve meals for residents, visitors, and staff
  • Listen with empathy to residents and their representatives about cleaning requests and report to the Supervisor any requests that cannot be immediately actioned
  • Observe food safety, HACCP, quality, and hygiene standards
  • Maintain accurate relevant catering records, including monitoring and recording of food temperatures
  • Report any feedback from residents on their satisfaction or otherwise with meals provided
Requirements
  • Previous experience in a cleaning and/or food handling role
  • Sound communication skills with a level of English literacy to speak in a manner that older people can understand and to be able to read written instructions
  • Time management to manage own workload, without direct supervision, to complete tasks within the allocated time
  • A basic understanding of the requirements to support residents living with dementia, including those who display challenging behaviors, and a basic knowledge of the requirements of the Aged Care Standards
