Role Summary:
A Group Leader is required to provide high-quality childcare services at a centre in Norlane VIC.
The successful candidate will lead a team of educators, implement educational programs and ensure the centre's operation meets quality standards.
">Job DescriptionThe Group Leader will be responsible for:
- Preparing educational materials and resources for children.
- Participating in activities with children, including teaching, reading and playing.
- Executing designated activities and ensuring children's safety and engagement.
- Supervising and monitoring children's behaviour and social development.
- Ensuring daily routines are implemented according to learning plans.
- Communicating with children in English and Chinese.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare all necessary teaching materials, tools, games, and toys for educational and recreational activities.
- Develop close relationships with children and participate in activities such as teaching, reading, and playing.
- Ensure children are safe and engaged during games, activities, and exercises.
- Monitor and nurture children's manner and behaviour, including guiding their social development.
- Supervise the hygiene of children.
- Create programs to teach Chinese characters and language to children.
- Ensure the room environment is clean and tidy.
- Ensure the centre's operation complies with the National Quality Framework across all related areas.
The successful candidate will possess:
- Minimum 4 years of experience working in childcare centres in the role of educator, with at least 3 years as a Group Leader.
- Excellent customer service skills, committed to providing exceptional service across all channels.
- Effective communication skills, varying communication styles depending on the audience.
- Excellent attention to detail and written skills when communicating with others.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
- Strong time management and organisation skills, able to accomplish objectives effectively within given timeframes.
- Fluency in an Asian or European language and ability to communicate effectively, both written and oral.
- Specific knowledge and skills, such as experience in using painting, music, and artworks for children, will be highly regarded.
The successful candidate will hold:
- Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care or equivalent qualification.
- Approved First Aid, CPR, and Anaphylaxis and Asthma Certification.
- Working With Children Check.
