We are seeking an experienced motor mechanic to join our team. As a motor mechanic, you will be responsible for maintaining, testing and repairing petrol engines and mechanical parts of light weight motor vehicles.
Duties:
1. Maintain, test and repair petrol engines and the mechanical parts of light weight motor vehicles such as transmissions, suspension, steering and brakes.
2. Diagnose faults in engines and parts.
3. Dismantle and remove engine assemblies, transmissions, steering mechanisms and other components, and check parts.
4. Repair and replace worn and defective parts and reassemble mechanical components, referring to service manuals as needed.
5. Perform scheduled maintenance services to achieve smoother running of vehicles and ensure compliance with pollution regulations.
6. Reassemble engines and parts after being repaired.
7. Test and adjust mechanical parts after being repaired for proper performance, diagnose and test parts with the assistance of computers.
8. Inspect vehicles and issue roadworthiness certificates or detail work required to achieve roadworthiness.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
• Willingness to go the extra mile.
• Motivation to succeed.
• Driver's licence.
• Current mechanic qualifications.
