About the Role

The purpose of this position is to provide expert clinical knowledge and care for consumers/patients with various conditions, supporting the general function of the unit through role modeling and application of contemporary, evidence-based, consumer/patient-focused care, education, leadership, and portfolio management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Fulfill the responsibilities of this role according to Schedule 2, Nurses, and Midwives (Queensland Health Award Generic Level Statements (GLS) Nurse Grade 6 Band 1, and align with Queensland Health's commitments and values to achieve organizational goals and Domains of Practice.
  • Practice in accordance with the code of ethics, professional standards, and legislation affecting nursing/midwifery, maintaining current knowledge and competence within the scope of the position.
  • Apply advanced clinical nursing expertise, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation, to deliver high-standard, patient-centered care.

Contribute to the health equity agenda by supporting the six actions that address the needs of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, such as eliminating racial discrimination and institutional racism, increasing healthcare access, influencing social, cultural, and economic determinants of health, delivering culturally safe and responsive health services, and collaborating with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities to design, deliver, monitor, and review health services.
