The Communications Lead drives high-quality communications to enhance and protect our national and local brand.

As part of a global company that produces resources critical for the modern world, Nyrstar Australia – across its two sites at Hobart and Port Pirie – has an important story to tell about what it does now and how it is positioned for the future.

This role will drive this important story across our platforms – internally within our business and to key external audiences.

With the ability to both think strategically and deliver on the ground, this role is suited to a talented communications professional who can work autonomously and as part of a small but experienced Corporate Affairs team of professionals nationally.

About You:

  • 5+ years' experience in communications or a similar role
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field such as journalism, public relations, business, or related disciplines
  • Extensive experience in content development for various channels, including newsletter writing, corporate reporting, and website and social media
  • Understanding of integrating communications messaging into creative campaigns and design-led communications
  • The ability to quickly gain trust and to build lasting mutually beneficial relationships
  • Communication skills that enable you to connect at all levels of the organisation, adapting your approach and style as necessary for the particular audience
  • Experience in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent organisational, time management, and communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure
  • Ability to think creatively
