Job Overview
The Trauma Service Registrar will play a vital role in attending Level 1 and 2 trauma call-outs, contributing to trauma assessment and patient care.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate documentation in the trauma booklet.
- Gather pre-hospital data and record essential information for the National Trauma Registry.
- Perform primary, secondary, and tertiary surveys on trauma patients.
- Demonstrate vital trauma skills such as tube thoracostomies, splinting fractures, and wound washouts.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Relevant qualifications: MBBS or equivalent, registrable with the Medical Board of Australia, and Basic Life Support (BLS) certified.
- Clinical skills in trauma care, ability to work independently, and effective communication in a multidisciplinary environment.
- Proven experience in supervising medical staff and teaching undergraduate and postgraduate students.
- Comprehensive understanding of trauma management, quality improvement, and commitment to patient rights and responsibilities.
