Position Overview

The ideal candidate will take charge of delivering projects and engagements effectively while nurturing client relationships and overseeing team members. Security & Privacy (S&P) consultants are expected to maintain extensive client interactions, provide staff training, and manage third-party collaborations. You will possess the expertise to oversee the entire project lifecycle concerning IT general controls audits, cybersecurity, and information security services. Additionally, you will be encouraged to enhance your strategic, business development, and leadership capabilities.

The RSM Security & Privacy Services team specializes in IT governance, IT risk consulting, cybersecurity, information security, and IT auditing. We cater to both government and private sector organizations, operating across diverse technology platforms and software environments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct IT, cybersecurity, and technology risk assessments, perform technical security reviews, and evaluate the effectiveness of processes/controls and risks associated with third-party organizations.
  • Execute and finalize individual IT and cybersecurity audits and special project reviews across various applications, IT infrastructure, and relevant IT domains.
  • Carry out independent, risk-based IT and cybersecurity audits to evaluate the adequacy and effectiveness of internal controls, ensuring the reliability and integrity of the client's business and IT systems.
  • Manage multiple audit engagements concurrently, collaborating with various team members for each audit, including assisting with planning, execution, and staff scheduling.
  • Facilitate or coordinate special consulting or other reviews as necessary, which may encompass system software evaluations, new system development assessments, post-implementation reviews, contingency planning evaluations, and access reviews.
  • Aid in the planning of client deliverables, such as strategic internal audit plans and scope documents.
  • Oversee the execution of fieldwork and documentation of findings, ensuring the audit file is maintained accurately.
  • Provide support for IT general controls and application controls audits to external auditors.
  • Define the objectives, scope, and extent of each audit, ensuring that audits are conducted professionally and efficiently within established deadlines.
  • Participate in business development initiatives for the firm.
  • Collaborate with other divisions as needed.
  • Address technical issues and assist in preparing technical position papers.

Education and Qualifications:

  • Successful completion of Criminal Record Screening Clearance.
  • A relevant tertiary degree and/or qualification is essential.
  • Relevant professional certification/qualification is required, such as Certified Information Systems Security Professionals (CISSP), Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), or Certified in Risk and Information Systems Controls (CRISC).

Experience and Attributes:

  • A minimum of 4-5 years of experience in Professional Services related to cybersecurity, IT auditing, internal controls, or risk management.
  • Proven experience in conducting security risk assessments and auditing cybersecurity or information security standards or governance frameworks.
  • Experience in managing engagements where teams conduct various technical testing assessments, with the ability to translate technical findings into actionable recommendations for non-technical client personnel.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of best practices in IT general controls and applications.
  • Strong understanding of IT processes, project management, applications, databases, operating systems, and network infrastructure to identify opportunities for improvement.
